The ioctl call includes the third parameter as a void pointer. This parameter has to be type-casted in the driver code to the corresponding structure depending upon the command type. For Ex: consider the ioctl used to get the adslLineCode type, ioctl(fd,GET_ADSL_LINE_CODE,void *struct_adslLineTableEntry). In the driver code we check on the type of the command, i.e GET_ADSL_LINE_CODE and type-cast the void pointer to struct adslLineTableEntry type. - // -#define u32 unsigned int -#define u16 unsigned short -#define s16 short -#define u8 unsigned char -
